I am not a particularly spiritual person. However, I like the idea of animism, which is the belief that everything has a spirit. That gives me a sense of humility and love for all living things!

Let’s talk about summer!

1, Do you like summer?

2, Does the weather in summer affect your daily routine?

3, Do you have any summer traditions or rituals in your family or local area? (I remember our family enjoyed digging clams out of the sand on the beach or hiking around a pond or  lake. I wonder if people still can do the same activities under the scorching heat in modern summer.)

次回は夏休みのため、小さなお子様が数名いらっしゃるかもしれません。普段から忙しいお母さん達には、さらに大変な時期です。

トピックの”Summer”を思案中、幼い時の盆踊りの風景を思い起こしました。田舎の、とある広場に立てられた櫓のまわりで、単調な振付を繰り返しながら、いつまでも踊っていたな～と。

英語の勉強ができません、と申し訳なさそうにあるいは堂々と言われる方、結構いらっしゃいます。楽しみながら、継続あるのみです。今回のお題「習慣」でも、ヒントを得られるといいですね。

「もっと単語を覚えましょうね」と言われる大人たちの傍らで、

スピースピーとかわいい顔をして寝てました。また来てくれるかな。

前回は新しい方が来られたため、みなさんに簡単な自己紹介をしてもらいました。

よく来られている方の口から、“I am an eternal beginner.”  と出てきて、つい感心してしまいました。

言葉って自由だな～と。文法やコロケーションに気を取られ、うまく言葉が運べないときもありますが、

もっと自由に話そう！と思いました。
