One little immigrant girl has planted seeds. She just wanted to connect with her deceased father, who loved growing crops, but passed away before seeing his daughter .
Even before the seeds the girl planted sprout, an elderly lady gets involved with this story. In fact, the book is composed of thirteen people’s stories. People with different backgrounds, going through tough times, are attracted to the piece of land to sow seeds one after the other.
This story gives us hope that the ground covered with garbage can be restored. The people standing on the abandoned ground can be revived too.
It’s possible that as plants stretch their branches and grow leaves, people interact with one another and build a community there. No matter what we have done to nature, this is the only place for us to go back.
